Volunteer to Help Displaced Federal Workers Prepare for New Careers
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext offers recently unemployed federal workers and federal contractors a variety of services to help them explore new careers and connect to new employment, including a free class and free virtual workshops on topics such as building connections through LinkedIn and navigating the job search process.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext is expanding its support by offering individualized assistance with the help of volunteers in the Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
How Volunteers Can Help
Volunteers employed in local businesses could help Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext participants:
- Understand current industry trends
- Learn about the skills employers are seeking
- How to represent federal government experience most effectively for a career in a new field
How to Apply to Become a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext Volunteer
If you are interested in potentially being matched with a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext participant, complete the Volunteer Interest Form. The form asks about your:

Once a pool of volunteers has been established:
- Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ will open requests from eligible displaced workers for one-on-one virtual assistance.
- If a volunteer’s experience matches a participant’s interest in a similar in-demand career field, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ will send the volunteer contact information for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵnext participant so arrangements can be made for a virtual meeting.
